Something really weird was going on in Tabula Rasa land and Cassie was set to investigate or at least check on all the people she was close too. Morgan was effected and Dick and Tim seemed occupied keeping her out of trouble. Anatoly and Luthor seemed to be fine when she'd checked on them. She hadn't seen Kon since he missed training but that wasn't exactly out of the normal so she wasn't worried. Yet anyway.

She was currently looking for Karolina to check on her and thus heading towards the club where she knew her female friend was working. Cassie really hoped not. This whole thing was just...creepy.

Now she really frowned as she looked over at him. "Bad news? What kind of bad news?"

"It's about Kon." Eric gave her shoulder a gentle squeeze. "Did you know he's stripping with Clark at the Club?" He shook his head sadly. "Putting on quite a show, too. Audience participation and everything." He tsked, frowning. "Not really stellar boyfriend behavior, if you don't mind my saying so."

Cassie blinked as she gave him a skeptical look. "What are you talking about? Kon can't even stand to be around Clark. Whatever kind of joking mood your in, you need to start being funny, because this? Was not it."

"I have never been more serious, C," Eric assured her. "I was just there. They were all over each other. And anyone else that was interested, for that matter."

"C?" Cassie questioned automatically before giving him a shocked look. "You...your serious?" It was hard to believe but...why would Eric lie to her?

Eric heaved a sigh and nodded solemnly. "I'm afraid so. I've always known you were too good for him, but now he's proven it." He touched Cassie's cheek and added, "Forget about him. You can do so much better." Like him. Of course it wouldn't be anything serious, Cassie didn't come from the right background for that, but she was good enough for a night of fun, anyway.

Cassie didn't really hear him at first, as she was in a bit of shock. Kon was flirt yes, but he'd never done anything like this. While the rational part of her brain pointed out that it could be the island madness that seemed to be gripping people...she still couldn't help feeling betrayed.

Eric touching her cheek brought her back to the conversation and she gave him a skeptical look. "What are you suggesting?" She asked softly, not sure she wanted the answer.

"From the moment I met him I knew he was wrong for you," Eric said softly, brushing Cassie's hair back from her face. "I know it hurts, but maybe this is all for the best." It wasn't exactly an answer to her question, but Eric knew subtlety was called for at the moment. He could bide his time for a few more minutes, at least.

Narrowing her eyes, Cassie fought the urge to step away from Eric. Something was definitely not right, and she didn't just mean his attempts at humor. "For the best? And what exactly is the best for me Eric?" Oh, she had a very bad feeling about this...

Eric shrugged. "No one can answer that but you, Cassa--Cassie." He sighed, then added softly, "I just don't want to watch you get hurt." Unless he was controlling the reins, that was.

"I think I can take care of myself Eric." Cassie said as she raised her eyebrows. She still couldn't shake her bad feeling. "Part of the whole super hero thing, remember?"

"That doesn't mean you're immune to pain, especially emotional pain," Eric pointed out, doing his best to look concerned and sympathetic. "But my point is Kon is no good. Hell, you'd be better off with me." He laughed at the comment to highlight the absurdity of it. Hey, if that was what it took to get her into bed, he was willing to play the self-deprecating card for a while.

Well, that idea was kinda silly and she couldn't help a small smile. She may have been Eric's type for a weekend, but Cassie definitely wasn't now. "Yeah, right. Let's not go with impossibles here. Kon isn't...that bad." She paused for a moment in between, realizing how not sure she was about that fact. It was still just, so hard to believe.

"My mistake. Here I thought giving lapdances to strangers was plenty bad." Eric shook his head slightly. "As for impossible...nothing's impossible, Cassie." He smirked faintly.

"Well, yeah...I guess that is pretty bad." Cassie said softly, still not believing it. Though she frowned again at gave Eric a hard look. "What do you mean nothing's impossible? I'm a girl Eric, remember? Wonder Girl?"

Eric looked her over and smiled faintly. "I noticed," he purred, his hand rubbing along her arm lightly.

Cassie pointedly moved her arm away from Eric's hand. "Then I'm clearly not your type. What are you playing at Eric? Because it's really not funny. At. All."

"I'm not playing at anything," Eric said with a note of irritation. "And types can change." Though he was starting to think she had the right idea about it. It wasn't like she was worth fighting for.

Cassie just stared at him for a few long moments, studying him carefully. "So I'm suddenly your type?" She asked flatly. And suddenly it clicked. Whatever was wrong with Kon was wrong with Eric too. Wonderful. Did everyone she cared about have to be crazy today?

Eric decided to change the game; the sympathetic friend ploy was getting boring and tired. He looked her over, a slow smirk spreading over his face. "You'll do," he answered as his eyes met hers again, a challenge in them. "Come on, C. What better way to get back at him for humiliating you like this?"

Yeah. That's what she thought. Cassie took a step away from Eric. "Get away from me Eric. Because I'll take humiliation over being used." She knew this wasn't Eric and that just proved it. And she met his challenge with one of her own: if he persisted, she would hurt him and hoped he forgave her when he was himself again.

"Cassie, Cassie, Cassie." Eric shook his head, still smirking. "Don't you get it? We can use each other." He laughed, moving a little closer. "You can get back at Kon through me." And he could get some hot blonde ass.

And Cassie took another step back. "Did you not hear what I said?" She demanded, her voice taking on a bit of her Wonder Girl persona. "There will be no using of anyone and you won't take another step." It took everything she had not flee right then and there, but Eric wasn't himself and she owed him to at least get him help. "I think we better find your sister."

"I must say, I'm disappointed. I thought you were more practical than that, Cassandra," Eric chided derisively. "And I'm sure S has her own fun in the works. Some days she does a brother proud." He smirked and shook his head.

"Using people isn't practical Eric. It's not even ethical! It's...it's...Luthorish!" Well damn. If Serena was acting weird too then she had to figure out some else. "Well Nate then. Or Blair. Or heck, even Chuck. You need help!"

"What I need is entertainment," Eric snapped. "And as you've made it very clear you're not interested...I have no further use for you." He rolled his eyes and turned away. "Go moon over your slut of a boyfriend, then."

While she knew he didn't mean it, it took everything Cassie had not to punch Eric in the face in that moment. She took a step forward and grabbed his arm. "You may have no further use for me, but I'm still getting you help."

Eric tugged his arm away, shooting her a murderous glare. "Who do you think you are? The last person I need help from is you." She had stopped being amusing a while ago, and Eric just wanted to lose the dead weight at this point and find some actual entertainment.

Or what passed for it in this sorry place, anyway.

"I'm the hero remember. Helping is what I do, even for idiots who don't think they need it." Cassie spat back, also really not amused. Plus she wanted to get this over with so she could see what the heck was up with Kon. Not that she believed Eric, but still.

Eric rolled her eyes. "Not here, you're not," he pointed out coldly. "So why don't you mind your own damn business?"

"Doesn't matter where I am." Cassie replied, though she was more Wonder Girl now. It was easier to not care. "And you are my business, even when your being an idiot!" Though she was this close to hitting him and leaving him and superiority complex in the sand.

"Oh, get over yourself," Eric said derisively. What had he ever seen in her? She was clearly beneath him, and he was done listening to her preaching. "Do you have any idea how utterly boring you are? I'm out of here." He rolled his eyes and moved past her, ready to find something actually interesting to do.

This time Cassie just let him go, glaring at his back. Fine, Eric didn't want her help, see if she cared. She had more important things to do. Like find out what in Hera's name he was talking about.
