Valentine's Day- For Sam
Vegas was awesome. Valentine's Day was sometimes a day to dread on Tabula Rasa, what with foods that had unpredictable consequences. Now, they were in the city of unpredictable consequences and Cassie was having a ball. The lights, the excitement, the over all energy, it was infectious and she was loving it.
After a beautiful dinner, Cassie and Sam were walking down the Vegas Strip, hand in hand. She couldn't stop smiling, both from the atmosphere and the man walking beside her. It was just so romantic and passing so many weeding chapels wasn't helping.
After the third or possibly fourth one, Cassie got a sudden idea. It would contradict a conversation they'd had only recently but she had always been better at spur of the moment as over thinking was her down fall. And she wanted this, she feeling did.
If Sam answered her question first.
"Hey Sam. I have a crazy idea."

"I was completely serious about doing it if and when you're ready," he said. It was kind of a weird conversation to be having again and he wasn't sure why. Maybe she just needed some reassurance that he was still cool with how she felt about it, which he was.
"I actually haven't given it much thought since we talked about it. I like how we are now, it's pretty awesome, and we're... us. Married or whatever, we're us and I like that."

Cassie took Sam's hands in hers and held them tightly. "Let's get married. Tonight. Here in Vegas."

His head spun a little bit from the suggestions, but fortunately his mouth had never really needed permission from his brain to start talking. It wasn't that Sam didn't want to get married, because he did. This was just coming way, way before he thought Cassie would want that, if she ever did.
"What- what suddenly brought this on?"
no subject
"I've always been better at quick thinking and action. So let's do it. let's get married!"
no subject
"You did really like sex once we started having it," Sam mused. She was right, action was more her thing and she had good judgement when it came to making decisions in the heat of the moment. The scary part was that he was worried she might start talking herself out of it after they got married.
No, she wouldn't do that to him. Sam knew that, he knew that and he trusted her to not say this unless she really wanted it.
"So are you going to keep your name or are you taking mine? Or am I taking yours? Are we going to just make a completely new one? Witmark? Sandswicky?"

She punctuated this plan with a kiss.

"O- okay!" Sam said, still pretty stunned at the whole thing. Marriage. Married. Husband and wife. Okay, now he was the one that was freaking out a bit at the idea of getting married. He really wanted to though, he did want to get married. To Cassie.
"I will... go find my people. My people who will go watch me get married. To you."

"No you're fine," he said, trying to think of all the stuff that they should be thinking of for their wedding. It was a lot.
"What should I wear? Oh man, Aphrodite will probably kill us if we don't ask her to officiate. Do we need rings? Am I freaking out too much?"
no subject
"I doubt we'll be able to keep anything from here so we'll find permanent rings later. For now, get whatever you can. I'll find a dress with Cissie. If you want her there, then get Aphrodite. Sound simple enough?"
no subject
"And I'll get a suit. Suit and people, I can do that," Sam said with a nod. He needed to not over complicate this or freak out, because he didn't want Cassie to freak out. She could maybe put a bit more thought into some of this but he realized that might lead to her backing out. Which he didn't want.
"Do we should 'break' and go our separate ways or something? Go team? How does this work?"
no subject
"Separate. It will be quicker and it would be unlucky for you to see the dress. Let's pick a chapel and meet there in two hours? Three?"
no subject
"Two," Sam quickly amended. It wasn't that he thought Cassie would get cold feet if given too long but... he wasn't willing to risk it. He really, really wanted this and now that she had brought it up he would be pretty crushed if it didn't happen. He'd understand if she canceled because it was kind of crazy, but he'd definitely be crushed.
"We're awesome, we can totally do this in two hours."
no subject
They were going to get married and she was still more excited then anything else! "We're totally awesome. Alright, let's go pick a chapel." She took his hand and, despite her words, drew him in for a kiss first.

Sam kissed her back, more than happy to delay their splitting up momentarily for that. Or a longer time, because when he kissed Cassie everything else went away. Even the jitters and nerves of impending marriage disappeared the instant her lips met his. It was crazy, no matter how many times they did this, and they had done this a ton, it still became his entire world.
"You know that no matter what I'm yours forever, right?"
no subject
"And I'm yours. Forever and ever." Cassie said with a soft smile. "No matter what happens tonight."
no subject
"Tonight is going to be awesome," he said, smiling at her. Sam wasn't wasn't sure if he was reassuring Cassie or himself. Or maybe it didn't have to be like that, maybe he could just be excited about getting married.

"We should probably stop kissing and holding each other so we can actually go do the stuff that we need to do," he said, although he didn't let go of her either. Cassie was really, really nice to hold so it was kind of a conundrum.
no subject
But she did keep hold of his hand as she dragged him down the street. "Come on! Let's pick a chapel!"
no subject
"Right, right, we have to pick a chapel," he said with a heavy sigh, letting Cassie pull away from him a bit. Now that he was thinking about this he was nervous, but not in a scared way, more like he was going to explode with energy.
"You mentioned a fat Elvis?"
no subject
no subject
"Neon wedding bells, let's do it!" Sam said. Really, he just wanted to get on with it. If Cassie was happy then Sam was happy and honestly he didn't think he'd remember the chapel much at all. All he would remember was how happy he was, he was pretty sure of that.

"Yes, two hours," he said, glancing at his watch. It would probably be a bit of a rush, but that was okay. Rushing was good, it meant that they wouldn't have time to freak out at all.
