Homplot Wake Up Post

Normally, Cassie wasn't one to spend a lot of time in bed. But lately, or really the last two days, it had taken everything she had to get out of bed in the morning. Someone people might have been excited to find out the king of the Greek gods was their father but for Cassie, it just made her miserable. The powers she'd felt she'd earned for her bravery now felt cheapened. It just...it just wasn't fair.

And because she'd spent more time in bed, she knew instantly when she woke up that she wasn't on the island. After the events in the Fire Nation the month before, Cassie woke up quickly and sat up at the ready, wanting to be prepared for wherever she'd found herself. It was with a small sigh of relief when she realized that she was asleep on the couch of Young Justice headquarters. She took a deep breath and made herself float for the first time in years. Even through her depression, she couldn't help a small smile.

I narrow my eyes at her. If she thinks her super powers are everything, then she has another thing coming. I could give her a fight if that's what she wants.

"I can see the family resemblance already."

How about a throne and a lightning bolt to go with that attitude? And all I've done is not like her comic and show up at the wrong place against my will.

"Don't think I'm scared of you."

"Don't talk about things you have no idea about!" Cassie snapped. She knew the insult was towards Zeus but Cassie was so used to having only one parent that she instinctively took as against her mother.

Then she shook her head and regained her composure. "It's not me you should be scared of. There are other heroes in this word who won't take kindly to threats to one of their own. In fact, it really isn't me you should be worried about. It's Wonder Woman." She couldn't resist a small smirk as she thought of what her big sister's reaction would be if she got her hands on Luke. Oh, she wouldn't kill him but she'd scare him within an inch of his life. She wasn't Wonder Woman for nothing. "Look, it really is for your own good. I'm sure Bart and Kon will show you where the video games are and stay out of everyone's way."

She waited for a moment, to be sure he'd follow her advice before she took off. Even as she was slowly inching for the open window. She really needed to find her mother, now.

She's still going on about that incident in the rec room. Some people just can't let go, can they? I'm not scared of Wonder Woman. Bring her on. The only thing I've got to lose is a death sentence back home. If Wonder Woman wants to fight me just because her little sidekick girl threw a temper tantrum, I'm right here.

"You're the only one around here making serious threats, Wonder Girl. But, fine, I'll stay around. It'll be fun. Hurry back soon. I'll miss you."

Luke really didn't understand the gravity of what he'd done and it was more then just reading a comic book. But Cassie didn't have time for this.

"Look, be an ass all you want. I don't know why your here accept as a pain in my ass but believe me when I say your safer here. But just remember, all of us have our powers back and even just a friendly tap is going to hurt." It wasn't so much a threat as a friendly warning. As much as she'd love to see Kon give Luke a broken arm by accident, they were the good guys.

Then she turned and took off out the window, heading for home.
