Gender Switch Gathering Post

The Titans Treehouse was quiet early in the morning. The sun had not yet risen so most of the residents were still asleep. Or they were, until a loud shout tore through the air.

Cassie came bursting through her door, still dressed in her sweats and S-shirt pajamas, and while the shirt suddenly fit her a bit better, the sweats were too short. This would be because she was suddenly a he! She wasn't panicking exactly, but she wanted answers and she wanted them now. Yes, she'd been briefed that these kind of things happened, but being briefed and having them actually happen was a whole different thing. A whole different thing being mainly the thing between her legs she was pointedly ignoring.

As the others started drifting out of their rooms, she looked to the others who had been on the island for longer then a month. "Alright, someone explain, Now!" She said in her best Wonder Girl...Boy tone, frowning as her voice came out much rougher then normal.

Kon snorted. "No guesses. It's going to be downright weird seeing Bart." He didn't say why. He still hadn't told her about the drunken kiss and, if she hadn't seen it, he wasn't going to mention it and upset her more. Especially when he still wasn't sure why Bart had kissed him in the first place. It's not exactly like they'd had a conversation about it after or anything.

Cassie didn't know and really didn't need to. This was hard enough as it was without knowing about Bart being weird.

"You can't even look at me." She said softly, looking at the floor and shuffling her feet.

Kon frowned. "Cass that's not..." He sighed. "You were getting changed. Just because you have different parts doesn't mean you probably still wouldn't smack me for looking." He risked a peek up. "You know. With things like asking for my boxers?"

"Changed?" Cassie asked, blinking in surprise before she remembered why she'd followed Kon in there in the first place. "Oh...oh! Right."

She moved over to where he kept his clothes and began digging through things until she found a pair of boxers and jeans she could wear. She quickly changed out of her underwear and pajama pants, just keeping on Kon's shirt from what she had been sleeping in. They felt so weird. Her brain was trying to tell her the clothes should be way to bagging, instead of just slightly. "Alright, I'm done."

Kon turned around quickly when she started digging in his clothes and waited until she said it was okay again before turning back around. "Cassie, it's awkward. I'm not gonna lie." He shrugged. "Especially since we had plans. But it doesn't change that I adore you."

Cassie wanted nothing more then to cry right now. To take herself somewhere she could be alone and just cry. But even as a girl, that wasn't something she did. "I...adore you too." She winced slightly, the words sounding so weird in her lower male voice. Though even her male voice couldn't hide her disappointment. "I guess our plans aren't gonna work huh?"

"They will," Kon said, sure of that. "We'll just find a day when things aren't so...awkward. I promise and I always keep my promises, right?" He took a breath. I want to do things right, not worry about whether either of us is going to be weird." And he was pretty sure that he wasn't going to be the only weird one.

Sighing once again, Cassie walked over to sit next to him. "I know you will. I just wish this wasn't happening at all." She tried bringing her knees up to her chest to curl around them in a familiar worrying posture for her but it didn't quite work with her new body so she had to abandon it.

She sighed and tried to give him a small smile. "We'll figure it out. We always do right?"

Kon nudged her shoulder. "Of course we do. We're the Titans. And before that, Young Justice. Of course, we're likely to screw things up spectacularly before we get there, but I've kind of gotten used to that part of it." If he hadn't screwed things up already. It was entirely possible that he had.

It felt screwed up. And when she thought about it, she knew it wasn't Kon's fault. It wasn't his fault that the island turned her into a guy and he couldn't deal with going on a date with one. It wasn't her fault either.

It still sucked.

She wanted a hug, but she didn't want to make him anymore uncomfortable so she didn't ask for one. "Yeah, I guess. And if this isn't spectacular, I don't know what is."

"I probably don't want to know." Kon put his hand on Cassie's shoulder and squeezed softly. "Come on. Let's go do something that'll guarantee that we'll forget all of this." Maybe not a proper date, but just them having fun. "What do you say?"

She couldn't help a small smile as she looked up...no over at Kon. It was really weird being this tall. "Yeah okay. Let's go."
